You ready? ‘Cause I am!

10 Everyday Essential Lifehacks!

Hey bloggers! It’s Clare! Today I am going to show you 10 essential lifehacks that you will need some point in your life.

Hack #1: Need to film something, but you don’t want to spend money and buy a tripod or holder? You can use a clothing hanger, or a cup!

If you’re lazier, a pants clothing hanger is your go-to item. However, you’ll still need something to hang the hanger on. Simply clip your phone by one of the clips and then hand the clothing hanger somewhere! Wa-lah! A holder for your phone!

If you’re not as lazy, you can take one of those cheap plastic cups at the dollar store, and cut two slits as wide as the width of your phone on opposite sides. Then, place your phone inside the two slits, and then you have a holder/filmer, that you can place anywhere!

Hack #2: Popsicle cupcake holder!

During the summertime, isn’t it so annoying when you’re eating a popsicle and it decides to drip onto your new shirt and bathing suit? Have no fear, cupcake wrappers are here! Just stick the popsicle stick inside the wrapper, and anything that drips will drip onto the wrapper, and not onto you!

For me, I use one of the silicone cupcake holder so that the juices don’t soak the cupcake holder and eventually start dripping on me again. If you are using the paper holders, be sure to keep a couple at hand. If you are using a silicone cupcake holder, you a hole and re-use it so you aren’t wasting your money buying more silicone cupcake molds!

Hack #3: If you have a pimple that is ready to pop, d o n ‘ t u s e y o u r f i n g e r s! Instead, wet two Q-Tips with hot water, and pop them with the Q-Tips instead!

You should do this so you don’t infect your pimple anymore than it already is. Pimples have puss inside them, and your fingernails are very dirty, so if you pinch them, the bacteria under your fingernails will get into the pimples and into the puss which will infect your pimple even more. Also, avoid putting makeup on that spot, or it will clog up the pores and make the pimple worse, and bigger!

Hack #4: Instead of those fancy nail aprons, just use liquid latex or Elmer’s school glue! (Or any glue that peels off!)

Worried about messy nail polish and getting it on your fingers and all over your healthy cuticles? Apply some glue or liquid latex around your nails and paint away! This can keep you from using up all your nail polish remover in a day, or spending hours washing your hands!

(It’s also really satisfying to peel off, hehe.)

Hack #5: If you just did your nails, and you need to have it dry as soon as possible, fill up a cup of cold water and dip your nails in there for 3-5 minutes. Your nails will be dry in no time! Another good thing about this is that it will get off any nail polish if you got any on your skin!

Hack #6: Yet another nail polish lifehack. If you’re doing your nails, and you want them to last longer, seal the ends of your nails and avoid painting near your cuticles!

Sealing the ends of your nails will prevent it from chipping at the end, and then soon peeling the polish off your nails!

Avoid painting on or near your cuticles well help the nail polish stay on. If you paint on your cuticles, it can be easily peeled off.

Hack #7: Do you use lipstick a lot, don’t have a lot of control over it, and hate getting it on your teeth?

If you dislike getting lipstick on your teeth, put your pointer finger in the middle of your lips, close your lips, and pull your finger out. Congratulations, you have gotten off the lipstick that would’ve gotten on your teeth if you didn’t do this hack!

If you have shaky hands and can’t put on lipstick very well, you can use concealer to clean up your lips, and where you messed up!

Hack #8: If you have unscented and tasteless dental floss, you can use it to make marks in your food or nails! You can also use it to cut cake or other foods!

For doing your nails, I recommend using the small sticks that have floss with them instead of using strands of dental floss. However, it’s your choice!

Yes, cake cutting with dental floss is actually a thing.

Hack #9: If you have a candle with one of those hard to reach places, don’t burn yourself doing it! Simply light a spaghetti stick and have the spaghetti do the dirty work!

Say bye-bye to you burning yourself while lighting candles!

Hack #10: Last, but certainly not least, some life hacks that are random, but will be very helpful to you!

Of course, don’t do this if you’re at school or somewhere and you’re not allowed to take out your phone. Instead, just have them sign a contract!

Since I do the dishes a lot, I thought this would be very helpful! I’ll definitely have to try this hack sooner or later… I just can’t get the microwave dirty because I REFUSE to clean the microwave.

DIY Washy-Tape Keyboard!

Hey guys! It’s Clare! I’m sorry for not blogging in a while. This blog is going to be about how to Washy-Tape your keyboard! This is an awesome customization tool and it’s very pretty. It can also help you type without looking at keys! I’m also doing a DIY because there aren’t many tutorials on how to do this properly.

First, you’ll need scissors, any small flat tool (I used a cuticle pusher), and washy-tape! Washy-tape is usually hard to find, you can try to look in A.C. Moore or Target. My friend, The Inquisitive Writer, lent me some washy-tape, check out her blog! It’s awesome!

Next, cut off a piece of tape. If you’re washy-taping a letter, cut out a square. However, if you washy-taping a different button, you’ll have to measure it, and cut it out! When you measure it, it doesn’t have to be exact. Just don’t make it too big or too tiny.

Then, take you flat tool and flatten out the tape so it’s not crinkled. If it’s crinkled, it’ll be slightly annoyed to type with, and it’ll feel a bit strange. Once you’ve flattened it, use your flat tool and tuck the tiny bits of extra tape into the edge of the keys, so it looks neat.

Finally, repeat these steps and washy-tape your keyboard on how many keys you want!WP_20161223_016.jpg

And there’s my tutorial on how to washy-tape and customize your keyboard! Stay tuned for new posts!

What are the Pros & Cons of Fall and Winter?

Hey guys! It’s Clare! Today I will be doing a collab with The Inquisitive Writer! Jo will be talking about the pros of Fall and cons of Winter. She is going to be the color purple. I will be talking about the cons of Fall and pros of Winter. I will be green. We are doing the pros and cons of places that get the equal amount of each season. Comment down what season you like the most!

Fall

fall-2

What are the pros for Fall?

I think the pros would be drinking pumpkin spice lattes, crocheting hats and scarves (yes, I like to make hats and scarves), and starting to wear sweaters. Other pros being that the leaves turn red, orange, and yellow (which make great pictures), a break from the summer heat especially here in NJ), and that good feeling that snowy weather is coming.

I like drinking pumpkin lattes, too! We don’t share a lot of similarities about the pros of Fall, but everyone has their own reason why they like Fall.

Agreed! So what are the dreaded cons?

When the leaves fall off the trees, it’s really sad-looking, the temperature drops very cold very quickly, it’s cold out, and you haven’t packed away your summer clothes (which takes a long time).

Ugh! Yeah I hate it when the weather gets too cold.

Okay, let’s move onto Winter!

Winter

13919712-standard

The pros of Winter are that you can go sledding, snowy weather, building snowmen, drinking hot cocoa, and taking cool pictures.

Sledding brings up a fresh memory for me… Once I went sledding with a relative on a really steep hill, and when the sled stopped, I flew off and did a back flip!

That’s a really funny story! Glad you didn’t get hurt! Let’s move on to the cons.

The cons of Winter would definitely be chapped lips, dry hands, the temperatures dropping into the negatives, and catching colds and viruses. I get sick mostly during Wintertime.

Winter is still fun, though!

Sure… Well it was fun doing these pros and cons with you!

You too! Bye!

These were the pros and cons of both Fall and Winter! However, everyone has their own reason why they have their own pros and cons of different seasons. See ya guys next time!

My Weird Addictions?

Hey bloggers! I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in awhile. 😦

So I’m here today to talk about my weird addictions. My weird addiction is… *dumdadidum* SLIME! Yes, I like slime. A lot. Maybe too much.

screenshot-2016-11-20-at-3-38-28-pm  This is only just one kind of sime I have, for example.

Slime is just soo super squishy! And… I make my own slime. It’s just so satisfying.

Stay tuned for my next post!

Are sports and games just as important as studies?

Hey guys! I’m here with a question that popped up like a lightbulb inside of my head.

Are sports and games just as important as studies?

Screenshot 2016-11-11 at 7.37.25 PM.png

Since I was a little kid, around 4 or 5, my parents have been real sticklers about my grades, and my educational. I wasn’t allowed to miss a single day of school unless I really needed to. They always believed in “education” and “getting into a good college” and “being successful”. However, since I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to play sports, games, and hang out with friends more.

Recently, one of my subject grades dropped down to an 85. My parents, being my parents, freaked out, and made me stop going to all me extra-curricular activities, and said that I wasn’t allowed to meet with any friends until I was able to raise that grade.

It’s only been about a week, but I’ve found myself completely miserable, staring at a textbook, using online courses, and nothing else to do but learn. I’ve started to get bored, without going outside and getting a fresh new breath of exercising air.

So, just to re-cap, are sports and games just as important as studies?
